Today I am…

Posted by Caila On January - 24 - 2010

Ultimately disappointed. Not in anyone around me, just in myself.

I have spent all day working, and the best thing I’ve come up with was during my group meeting and took me five seconds. Once we present to the client on Tuesday I’ll post my progress.

I also have my Bike Safety book due on Wednesday and I’m nowhere near done. Oh well. I really just want to graduate (or gradumicate as I tell Lee) already.

But I’m just more disappointed in how things are going outside of work. It’s ridiculous and stupid.

I’m also ultimately exhausted. And I should probably eat something.

Its funny how much of a routine I have…

You never really notice how much of a routine you have until it’s thrown horribly out of whack.

For example, the rain today. Every morning I usually bring my laptop or sketchpad (or both) and bike to the coffee shop, sometimes stopping at Keys Hall before going to class.

Today I woke up to the sound of rain hitting the roof by my window. And my first thought was “Well, I’m not bringing my laptop out in this.” My second thought was “Frak, my type studies won’t get completed.”

It took me about 5 minutes before I realized that my laptop would work in my apartment, and that I could do my type studies in the comfort of my living room (away from the thunder and rain blanketing the area) while watching Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince.

Routine. I hate it, but I thrive on it. I make lists of everything I need to do, eat the same thing every day, visit the same places and take the same streets to get there.

Oh god, I am Jim.

The best thing I have ever learned

My professor is currently discussing going to Europe with his cousin. “She could burp her ABC’s… Have you ever known anyone like that?!”

But the previous conversation was about taking chances. “Ive known plenty of people who say “Im going to work hard until I’m 60 and then retire and have fun.” But then they get cancer and die.”

This class is so odd, but I suppose it’s teaching me something…?

Oh and look how pretty my bike is! Later I’m going to do a post about how awesome my bike is and future plans.
