Top Ways to Procrastinate

Posted by Caila On March - 9 - 2010

Since it is finals, I figured I would aid you all finding the best things to procrastinate with.

Here’s a collection of what I have spent my last 2 days doing (other than occasional schoolwork).

1. Go to the Sentient Bean

Now normally, I get a lot of work done here. However, not this week. In fact, while I should be working, I’m writing this blog. At the Sentient Bean.

2.Singing along to Pandora Playlists/5 Minute Dance Parties

The best way to relieve stress is the Liz Lemon Way (LLW)- A Dance Party.

No black light attacks, and no robot hand prints here, but we have had at least one 5 minute dance party. You put on a song, you jump around, and then you get rid of all your anxious energy. For example, this is what we danced to yesterday:

Hot N’ Cold

3. Singing Off Key

Who knew this was so much fun? This one reduced the audience to tears.

Well, maybe only I was crying. It was that bad.

4. Make a Pie Chart

Oh wait. I did that last time.

5. Play Farmville

Now I’m level 40!

6. Make up words

My favorite is Majestic Pegasus. Now, I’m not making up the word, but I am coining a term (and a dance move) here. Whenever one says “Majestic Pegasus”, you must flap your arms like a seagull (Or look like Lil’ Arnez Stubs in Hairspray).

This term was coined from the following story:

Myrriah and I were standing in The Bean (at the counter) discussing something. I’ve been wanting to read Percy Jackson again, but I’ve banned myself from doing anything that’s not work (or on the computer) so I have to wait until I fly back home. Well, that made me think about my flight and I brought up the fact that in the email I got about my flight, it just said Washington. I was very confused about why I was going to have a layover in Washington State when I realized that the flight was about 1.5 hours and therefore was supposed to be Washington D.C.

Myrriah brought up the fact that she wishes she could get to Washington State in 1.5 hours. I remarked that you could get there in 5 minutes through a series of teleporting jumps… or on the back of a Majestic Pegasus.

TERM COINED.

7. Sleep

Finals are normally a time of exhaustion. NOT FOR ME! I take naps. A lot of naps.

8. Pick up a new Facebook or iPhone App

Last finals it was Farmville. Now it’s Words With Friends. WOOO.

9. Look at this video

10. AND THIS VIDEO

I think that’s all I’ve done over the past few days. Oh, and come up with 2 pamphlets, a Web site, a few posters, some ID tags, produced 3 radio spots, hired a full staff and did an interview. BUT SO MUCH MORE TO BE DONE! Hopefully, having written this post to procrastinate, I will be able to work. Good luck to everyone with the rest of their finals!
